Acupuncture Massage

This method is based on an ancient Asian medical system, which is still fully accepted today and applied increasingly in our modern times. According to this captivating concept it is the life-energy that governs all body functions. This life-energy flows in our body through a circuit of lines and points called „meridians and acupuncture points“ and feeds all the body systems. Based on these principles an imbalance or stagnation of this energy flow is the root cause of all physical disorders. Curing or preventing afflictions is therefore concerned with regulating this energy flow, keeping it strong and vigorous. Acupuncture Massage is an effective energetic treatment based on Chinese medicine. It eases muscle tensions, improves circulation, provides and supports energy flow and dissolves disharmonious energy patterns. It can help you correcting and regulating the functioning of your organ system and stimulates your body’s self-healing power.

Acupuncture Massage

relieves or cures a wide range of disorders, such as, for example:

- Stress related disorder
- Lack of energy
- Insomnia
- Painful muscular tension in neck, shoulder and back
- Any kind of back pain, Sciatica
- Headaches, migraine
- Menstrual disorders, menopausal syndromes
- Psychosomatic afflictions
- Circulatory problems
- Digestive disorder
- Hay fever
- Frequent colds
- Amongst others…

... and is a good prevention to stabilize your soft spots and re energize your body’s self-healing capacity.

How is it done? How does it function?

The treatment is tailored according to the present condition, diagnosed by means of the ear-reflex-zone check. The ear offers to the practitioner manifold and expressive means of diagnosis as well as control options of the measures taken. A reflection of the entire body can be found in the reflex points of the ear. No needles are used during the treatment. The meridians and the acupuncture points are gently massaged by the hands, fingertips or in combination with a rod. The treatment is completed by a gentle manipulation of the articulations to free their movement and align the spine. Within one or two treatments you generally should already feel marked improvements. At this point it will become clear how to proceed regarding further sessions; you can assess this together with me.

Sessions & Fees for Acupuncture Massage

The treatment takes one hour (60 minutes) and at present costs CHF 140.-. This therapy is compensated by most of the local "Krankenkassen" (health insurances), if you have complement coverage for alternative medicine.

Yoga

Hatha Yoga and Hormone Yoga Therapy

The word Yoga denotes a concept of discipline leading to union. The body and mind form a continuum of consciousness that, by achieving a state of focus and clarity, may unite with the Universal Spirit (or Inner Self). Out of the different existing yoga pathways, Hatha Yoga concentrates on postures and alignment using stretching positions, breathing and meditation techniques creating an internal atmosphere of peacefulness and integration. It takes the individual from a state of separation and divisiveness to a unity-of-self that is flexible, accepting, affirming and whole.

Hatha Yoga

… is a wonderful technique that suits any person, at any age, who wants to take an active part in their own health prevention by strengthening and harmonizing themselves by learning movements, postures and breathing, simple skills to maintain greater physical and emotional well-being. Soft and concentrated movements are carried out in a standing, sitting and lying position, thereby improving flexibility, strength and endurance as well as deepening your body awareness, relaxation and breathing. It helps you prevent diseases and diminishes everyday stress and imbalance. You will experience deep relaxation and centeredness.

Requirements for Hatha Yoga

No special requirements are needed; however, please do inform me about your physical condition, before taking up Hatha Yoga.

Yoga during pregnancy

will offer you support and assistance throughout your pregnancy. With specific yoga exercises I support you with strengthening your body as well as increasing your body awareness. You will learn to listen and trust your body, which is one part of preparing to give birth. The relaxing effect of Yoga is especially beneficial during pregnancy and will help you to adapt to the continual changes of your body during the process of these nine months. Typical disorders during pregnancy such as back pains, water retention or digestive troubles can be prevented or released by regular exercising. I work individually or in groups of two people to adjust to the very individual needs, possibilities and processes of the people I am working with (the second person can be another pregnant woman or your partner).

Hormone Yoga Therapy (according to Dinah Rodriguez) for women

Hormone Yoga Therapy (HYT) is a powerful technique to balance and activate the body’s own hormonal production. It is based on a combination of Hatha Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Tibetan breathing techniques and visualisation.

Targets and effects of Hormone Yoga Therapy

Like every other form of Yoga, Hormone Yoga works on the organism as a whole and is therefore effective on various levels.

The effects of HYT are as follows:

On the physical level
- strengthening musculature, bones and flexibility
- improvement of body posture
On the physiological level
- activation of the hormone producing organs (mainly concerning oestrogens)
- reduction of disorders connected with the menopause (hot flushes, mucosa dryness) and hormonal imbalance in general; prevention of hormonally related diseases
On the psychological level
- reduction of stress, insomnia, blues, depressive moods
On the energetic level
- increase of vitality

Indications of Hormone Yoga Therapy

Therefore HYT is especially indicated:

In cases of:
- menstrual disorders, PMS
- infertility due to low oestrogen level
- climacteric period, menopause
- low function of the thyroid gland
In general HYT is indicated for women from the age of 38 upward.

Contraindications of Hormone Yoga Therapy

Hormone Yoga must not be practiced in the following cases:

In cases of:
- pregnancy
- hormone-related breast cancer
- acute endometriosis
- large uterine myomas
- acute abdominal inflammation (e.g. irritation of the appendix)
- severe osteoporosis
- acute heart diseases or after heart surgery
- during the first 3 months after abdominal surgery

Please fill in the -> Hormone Yoga Therapy Questionnaire (click here) before your first consultation.

Exercising HYT

Hormone Yoga uses more specialized techniques than Hatha Yoga; however, it is easy to adopt and to practice. You will learn a number of exercises, which combine different elements, such as Asanas (body postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Nidra (deep relaxation) as well as stress reducing techniques. The results are encouraging: HYT not only increases the hormone level, but also leads to a marked improvement of symptoms connected to the menopause, for example:

- Hot flushes
- Vaginal dryness
- Insomnia
- Joint pains
- Depression
- Weakness of memory
- etc.

You can learn the HYT program in a short sequence of individual classes in my practice.

Who Am I?

Brigitte Simone Hefti

Brigitte Simone Hefti

In my line of work I apply a holistic, process-oriented view of the human being and let myself be guided by an attitude of kindness, respect and empathy.

perception

I can draw upon numerous years of experience, dealing with body processes and the therapeutical effect of motion and dance. On this foundation and based on my training as a psychologist, I can create links to the emotional processes of the patient. An important part of my concept is evaluating and responding to the varied perceptions that my patients have with regard to their body and their spirit.

Upon request I can assist you in discovering the connection between your symptoms and your life process.

No technique in itself can ever have the power to heal. What does heal is an emerging and growing awareness of your hidden wholeness, which is the essence of your own, inmost nature.
